Sea•thos partners with scientists, other organizations and brands to collect information from the field. We aim to take that scientific information we have access to and make it digestible for the public.

Unlike other charities we do not accomplish 100% of our mission while out in the field gathering information on Sea•thos projects. Our goal is to build awareness, to spotlight the serious effect we are having on the ocean. When people understand that we are currently killing the ocean, and in turn killing ourselves, we hope they will be motivated to take steps to stop killing the ocean.

More than 3.5 billion people depend on the ocean for their primary source of food. In 20 years, this number will double to 7 billion.

Every year, 90 million tons of fish are captured globally, at a value of approximately $50 billion. Commercial fishing operations target unregulated deep water where large migratory species are exploited. Entire stocks can be depleted in a single season.
